Abstract: In 2020,there are frequent floods in major rivers in China,with the most serious flood situation since 1998. Water management departments at all levels deploy works in advance,strengthen rainfall and flood forecast, make scientific research and judgment,and make overall and careful dispatching of reservoirs,so as to give full play to the role of reservoirs in flood retention,peak clipping and peak staggering,and bring remarkable benefits to flood prevention and disaster reduction. This paper introduces the practice of flood prevention dispatching of reservoirs in 2020,expounds the existing weak links and problems,and puts forward suggestions.
