Suggestions on revision and verification evaluation on classification standard of difficulties on drinking water due to droughts

Drought disaster is one of the major natural disasters that affect the economic and social development of China.It not only causes serious losses to agricultural production,but also has a significant impact on rural drinking water.With the historic achievement of solving the problem of rural drinking water safety in China,the situation of drought affecting drinking water in China has also undergone tremendous changes.Therefore,the evaluation criteria for drinking water difficulties due to drought stipulated in the national standard "Classification of regional drought severity" issued in 2015 are also significantly different from the actual situation.Based on the analysis of the evaluation criteria for the impact of drought disasters on drinking water,revision suggestions are put forward.These suggestions on revision were verified in the drought of the Yangtze River basin in 2022.
