    Pilot construction and application of hydrologic precipitation-monitoring radar in Beijing City

    • Hydrologic precipitation-monitoring radar is an important technical means for monitoring regional area rainfall monitoring. It can output minute-level live rainfall data and realize fine monitoring of rainfall in radar coverage areas. At the same time, it can further extend the forecast period of flood forecast by using fine rainfall forecast products in the next 3 h, which can provide assistance for flood control and disaster reduction, water resources management and water resources protection in river basins. Taking the construction of 3 hydrologic precipitation-monitoring radar in Guanting Gorge of Yongding River Basin in Beijing as an example, systematically expounds the performance advantages, construction necessity, construction links and application effects of hydrologic precipitation-monitoring radar in flood and drought disaster prevention, and provides technical reference for the follow-up related units to carry out radar construction work.
