Abstract:
This paper analyzes the soil moisture measure instrument measuring capabilities in the representative areas of Western Liaoning Province based on SFCW-TDR technology. The technology mainly uses the semiapplied & semi-theoretical formula. The soil volume moisture content can be calculated according to the accurate travel time t, measured by the high-frequency electromagnetic wave on the TDR probe inserted into the soil layer. The absolute error of the two measurements is less than 2% through comparison in different plots and continuous comparison at the same point for a period of time. It can be applied in practice to provide fast and accurate data support for local flood prevention and drought relief decision-making.
