Abstract:
Beijing South-to-North water transfer ring pipeline is an important part of Beijing South-to-North Water Diversion project, which undertakes the task of transporting the South-to-North water to the main water plants in the East and South of Beijing. In flood season, a large number of underground wells along the pipeline are prone to runoff ponding, threatening the safety of underground equipment, and as the pipeline is the downstream of the middle route of South-to-North Water Transfer, the water quality and quantity are vulnerable to the dangerous situations of the upstream provinces. In 2021, The Ring Pipeline Management Department focused on two key tasks of "prevention and control of well ponding" and "water quality and quantity dispatching", took actions such as fully implementing the "forecast, early warning, rehearsal and plan", developing intelligent wells to realize ponding monitoring and automatic pumping, scientifically dispatching to dispose the yellow water risk of South-to-North Water Transfer due to "2021.7.20" rainstorm in Henan, finally ensured the safety of the pipeline operating and water supply. Based on the practice of flood prevention work, some suggestions are further proposed, such as broadening the information sharing channels, improving the technology research level, and accelerating the solution of the remaining problems of the project.
