Abstract:
In order to explore the enhancement of the "red edge" band of Gaofen-6 satellite(GF6-WFV) image in the extraction of reservoir water body information as a new data source on improving the extraction accuracy. Based on GF6- WFV data of Xiashan Reservoir and Andi Reservoir, the water body characteristics are analyzed,and the water body area is extracted by using single band, band difference, band ratio, Normalized Water Index (NDWI) and Red Edge Water Index (RSWI) respectively. And the visual interpretation of the artificially sketched water vector area is used as the empirical value to verify the accuracy. The results show that the relative error of water area extracted by RSWI is the lowest. This method can provide a method reference for large-scale water body extraction by using GF-6 red edge water index.
