Abstract:
In recent years, extremely heavy rainstorms have occurred frequently in Chongqing, causing severe damage to various regions through direct triggers such as flash floods and geological disasters. By collecting typical case study materials, reviewing relevant research findings, and combining recent response efforts, this study conducts a comparative analysis of eight major extremely heavy rainstorm events in Chongqing City since 2020. It examines their typicality, characteristic values, causes, disaster impacts, notable incidents and contributing factors, summarizing the typical features and patterns of such rainstorm processes and associated disasters. Based on these findings, targeted prevention and control measures and recommendations are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of flood prevention and disaster relief efforts.
