Abstract: Under the background of scientific and technological innovation， information technology is rapidly iterative. The summary of the latest application progress of information technology in flood prevention and disasters reduction will help to make up for the shortcomings of“flood prevention engineering”and “information engineering” . This paper introduces the development trend of information technology， and followed with discussing of modern computer technology application， new generation information technology and artificial intelligence technology in flood prevention and disasters reduction in recent years. In review of the 13 subdivided technical directions， the paper summarizes the technical characteristics， application progress， shortage or application prospect. Finally， the multi-dimensional coupling relationship between technology and business is analyzed， and it is concluded that the application of flood prevention and disasters reduction information technology will present the trend of intelligence， aggregation and security in the future.
